How are you playing?
I am excited about playing SE4 multiplayer, so I am playing my single-player matches using the "simultaneous turn" mechanics as practice. Are you all doing the same?
I am curious as to exactly how the multiplayer game will work. It looks to me that players will design empires to match the host's specification, who will then add them into a new game. The host will then send files to players who will give orders and then send a file back to the host, as in VGA planets, right? Can the host run without all the players having taken their turns? This would seem to be a very important feature to keep the games going. |
Re: How are you playing?
I prefer the normal turn-based style, but I have played in sumultaneous enough to be relatively good at it.

Re: How are you playing?
I prefer playing with Si move enabled, as that introduces a little more in the way of surprises and uncertainity.
I HAVE been playing a si move game by email with one other person. No "host" guess we trust each other.. PROBLEM... eveything went fine for about 8 moves... NOW I cannot sucessfully download the savegame file he emails me. When I try, I get a screen full of machine code,,, or jibberish. I can, however, go back to earlier moves saved on mt internet account, and sucessfully download those. Any advice? ------------------ "nothing happens in a vaccum." - me |
