No.. _THIS_ is going to sound dumb...

Ok.. I'm stumped.. I've looked through some forum Messages.. I've read the tutorial.. and maybe I'm blind.. dumb.. stupid.. (I must be since everyone else seems to know how) but.. how the hell do you start a colony outside of your primary system? Whenever I build a colony the place dosen't have _ANY_ resources so it can't build anything plus there dosen't seem to be a way to transport resources there? Help Please.. I'm in love with the game already.. but I'm thinking.. winning with only one system is going to be impossible http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/ima...ons/icon12.gif

Your not that stupid!!!!

Anyway get your colony ship and load some popoulation from your home planet then take to planet to colonise and bang there u hav it population on a planet to start buliding your empire.

you can also get a transporter with cargo bays load pop from home palnet and then unload on destination to boost your pop.

dont forget only col planets in green or red (domed planets on max 5 facilitys.

see u on the dark side

What you probably missed was as Andy/Drew said to load population to the colony ship.

Then, when you have built you're colony DON'T FORGET to build a spaceport in that sustem!!! Without that you're resources won't be transported out of the new system.

You have several choices. The easiest is to press the button in the ship order row that looks a little like a green dome. It will say colonize if you hold the pointer over it. This will automatically load colonists onto your colony ship and send it to the planet you designate and colonize it.

You can also manually load colonists onto a ship by going to the ship order area and going to the second area. The button that has arrows going up and down will allow you to move colonists to your ships, then you can order then ship using the arrow key to a planet anywhere else to colonize it ( if you have the tech, that is ).

Or, like it has been said, you can send the ship and then send the people afterwards by transport.

Hope this helps.
