I tried an experiment. I copied a savegame file of an SP game from the 0.99 demo folder to the full game folder, and I loaded it.

It accepted the file and loaded OK, but there was some squirreliness. In the demo game, I was researching Scanners 1. When I loaded the same file into the full game, suddenly I was researching Cloaking 1 instead...

Yeah, it looks like your research tree is hosed when you load a demo savegame into the full Version. At least mine was when I loaded a demo savegame.
