Help Please

I had a few questions:

1) Do Battle Stations need to have storage capacity, do they use supplies up? I am asking because I desire to build them at warp points and don't know if I should equip them with large supply storage.

2) Why are meson guns etc. rated higher than the uranium cannons (forget actual name) but with less damage? It is either the meson or the proton gun...

Re: Help Please

1) ISTR No supply storage or QR needed; it's treated as infinite.

2) The Projectile Weapons tech ends at 5, with range-5 DU cannons; the others (energy streaming and so forth) go further on, albeit much more expensively, to weapons that are eventually better.

Although actually you might ignore them, and instead go for phased energy weapons (through Physics, IIRC) to get the shield-piercing Phased Polaron beams, and eventually high-energy discharge weapons (through Propulsion), to get the powerful-but-slow Wave Motion Guns, since you're going to want propulsion and physics anyway.

Some of the weaponry is comparitively better (or worse) in the smaller Versions. Anti-Proton Beams, for example, do quite nicely as unit weapons but I've never seen too much point in them as ship weapons. I haven't taken a good enough look at Meson BLasters in the full Version to know if this applies to them though. Still, something to keep in mind. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif
