Future manual?
Any chance that a future manual will be put together. The one created was extremely poor. Most of the content was copied from you web site. Beginners need to have a booklet that informs you on the basics of game play, maybe even a short walk thru. Also better descriptions of technology and strategy. MOO@, MOM, and Civilization are examples of games with good source material. For the money I spent I expect at least quality documentation. The game other-wise is great.

Re: Future manual?
The manual has basic info to get started in the game.
Once in the game you can use the tutorial or the included CD manual that you can reference off the help screen in the game. ------------------ Sarge is coming... Richard Arnesen Director of Covert Ops Shrapnel Games http://www.shrapnelgames.com |
Re: Future manual?
Your manual barely covers anything. The common responce to most topics is see CDrom. I don't think that is acceptible for a product that I pay good money for. Also it's very vague on most topics it covers. The cdrom information also isn't very detailed and poorly organized. If you played the game before it's probably no problem. For me it's a pain. I referenced Master of Orion 2 or Civilization 2 as excellent examples of how a manual should be done. What was printed appears to be a Last minute rushed effort.
Now the game is great. But I would like to see better documentation. If it costs $5 more I'll pay it. But let's be honest the manual was very poorly done. True I'd rather have more effort in the game and it shows. But to sell to a broader audience I suggest better organized material. How about a printed tech tree chart too. Both MOO2 and Civ2 have this. |
Re: Future manual?
Well the manual isn't the best product we have ever produced but it was brought in late and thus never went through QA.
We're working on a program so that this doesn't happen with future games. I still think it will help folks out who are new to the game and the genre. ------------------ Sarge is coming... Richard Arnesen Director of Covert Ops Shrapnel Games http://www.shrapnelgames.com |
