Christmas Wish List (components wanted)

Dear Santa,
Now that I have received my full copy of SE-IV (too late for Thanksgiving weekend) I am hoping you will leave me a few components under the Christmas tree...

Gravity shields

Level 1 protects ships from the pull of a black hole.

Level 2 protects ships from strange warp holes.

Level 3 allows ships to navigate between b lack holes. (shortcuts across multiple sectors)
Point defense for mines

Only protects the ship it is installed on. Destroys some percentage of the mines as it passes through. Ship may be damaged if there are too many mines.
Drones

Whatever they are... http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/ima...s/confused.gif
And whatever else you may find laying around.
Thanks in advance,
Len

Re: Christmas Wish List (components wanted)

Certain additional mount abilities would be interesting --

- Technology required.
- Effect on ROF.
- Effect on accuracy.
- Automatic firing (ala PD); would fit well with the first (requires Computers *and* Sensors), would be expensive, and would sacrifice manual control in exchange for opportunity fire. Would have to be expensive, but still useful.

Maybe even internal/external (e.g. trade-off between protection by armor, versus kt cost).

Black-hole warp drives would be nifty. 8)

You already have mine point-defence: your description is exactly what the mine-sweeping ship component works.

"A black hole - the most destructive force in the universe! ...and you've created one !?"

Would such a ship have the drawback of occasionally killing off its entire crew and disappearing for a while, perhaps? ;-)

Dearest MM-Santa-
I realize you're a busy little man this time of year, but I was wondering if you had time to fulfill some of my christmas requests. I was wondering if you could implement:

Custom diplomacy Messages, allowing me to correspond with other players with something other than pre-scripted responses. I realize that the AI would only look at the type of message vs. the content, but that's just fine http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif

A stream-lined development tool for producing components, ships, etc. like SE3 had. I realize this is a big project, i just can't see you hand-writing out all those documents.

A really cool system and quadrant map maker. I love the way the game looks, i just have particulars in producing a map like I want it. I know I'm picky, but I tip well...
Thank you Aaron...umm...Santa!

greghacke:

In response to item #1. Cant you just go to the bottom of the message field and type whatever you want? Is that what you mean or are you looking for added message 'types' to exchange with Human players?

Tried the type in the box. My RL hot seat opponent recieved the generic text, not my message...
