Space yard upgrades?
 

In my current (and first significantly long) game, I've done space yard research up to level 2. Yet I don't seem to get any upgrades to the facility (I still just get Space Yard 1). Is that the way it's supposed to be? (Are my Space Yards just working better?)

It's a bit confusing - the "Space Yards" tech only increases the tech level of the space yard _ship component_ - it doesn't effect the planetary space yard facilities. So Level 2 space yard tech will allow you to put level 2 space yards in ships and bases, but you will still only have level 1 space yard facilities.

To improve the space yard facilities, you have to research to level 5 (I think) in ship construction to get a level 2 facility, and level 10 (I think) ship construction to get a level 3 space yard facility.
