Am I doing something wrong
Ok, I will admit that I do lack in the area of programing, but for the life of me, I can not seem to figure out how to get the game to use a pre-exsisting race style.
Ok, heres what I want it to do, and what I am doing. What I want is for the game to use the BORG race set that Jonas made. (the files are in the right spot) When I go to "player set up" The Borg empire is not listed in "pre-exsisiting" empires. Ok, that means, I have to set them up.?? So, how do I get the computer to use the files that came with the Borg Race? I know this type of question has been asked before, and for the life of me, I can't seem to find that thread anywhere. Must be that I am too tired and wired on caffeen at the moment to calm down enought to find it. Any help will be appreciated as always. Thanks |
Re: Am I doing something wrong
Have you saved them as an empire? I used the Borg Jonas made and had the same problem. I started a new game and played a few turns and changed the player control for the borg and saved them as an empire.

I have not gotten that far yet. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon9.gif I was hoping to get them to use the files Jonas has set up before I get into a game. Alas, I am too tired to continue on, and I just burned my eyes out looking at www.uglypeople.com So its time for me to star at a dark wall for a while and try and purge those hidous images. Good night. (And thanks agians for the help. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif )

Re: Am I doing something wrong
In the player screen, when you edit the race hit the box that says use race style. Or something worded along those lines.
Like your site by the way. |
Re: Am I doing something wrong
Atrocities: when you setup a new game, do "Add new race", scoll thru the race portraits to the race you want to make, I usually also have a crib sheet with the attributes with what the original author wanted them to be (ie, culture, characteristics, advanced traits, environment, and undr Geneneral traits: empire's name, empire type, emperor title, emperor name, design name (for ships and such) minister style). The race style author (and jonas did) should have setup in their race folder a race_general.txt file (eg, Borg_general.txt).
Hope this helps. |
