Music won\'t play
 

I downloaded the demo a few days ago and have been having a lot of fun with it, even though I usually only play historical war games. I downloaded WinAmp to give my system mp3 file playing capabilities and it works fine.

When playing the game the sound effects work fine, but the music doesn't play. Anys ideas ?

I have exactly the same problem with the retail Version!

I was in contact with Aaron about this problem but suddenly he disappeared...

Since i also have WinAmp 3 installed i guess that this may be causing the music problems.

Anyone else with WinAmp3 and music problems with DO?

Possible. I have Winamp 2.8 and it works fine. BTW, Aaron is still there but in the late Alpha stage of some project. He will be back soon.

fyi, I don't have winamp and I'm running Win XP. All the sounds and music are playing fine.

you might try checking the 'Settings.txt' file in the \data folder. Maybe the 'Allow Music' is set to FALSE for some reason, or if this is not the case, check the 'Use DirectSound' if it is set to TRUE, try setting it to FALSE. Way back when, I had a problem like this with my SoundBLaster Live Value! card. turning off the directSound worked.

These were the first settings i tried to change and tried all possible combinations.

I have a SB Live with latest drivers but it is strange that sound effects play correctly. Since DO uses mp3 i guess it has something to do with WinAmp or Media Player...

I hope that it will be fixed with the next patch since i am not the only one having this problem...
