Does your laptop runs on windows XP ? the demo does'nt support xp sadly. But on the full retail game there is a patch to fixe this issue.

Aaron should make an upgraded Version of the demo if he gets the time. If i would'nt have bought the game i would be much more attracted to buy it if the demo would have some of the 1.1 to 1.6 patch features.

Demo problems
 

I just tried installing the demo for the game. It worked perfectly on my PC, but when I tried to run it on my laptop, I get a whole string of errors!

Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Love the game. It's a bLast!! Now if I could only play it....

Actually, it's my PC that runs XP and it works fine. The laptop is Win98se and that's the one that doesn't work.

But I've just bought the full Version now so I'll give that a try.

Make sure your directx Version is current to at least 8.0. I made the same mistake on my own computer.

K. Turns out, I did have an older Version of DirectX. But I've updated it to 9.0 and it still has the same problems. Strange...

Any other suggestions?

I bought the full Version thinking that there might be something with the demo, but the full Version does the exact same thing just on my laptop. Works perfectly on my PC.

Just to note: The demo must not have problems running on XP. My laptop that I use is XP and the demo works perfectly fine with it.

I too use XP with directX 9, no problems here.

Whatever the problem was, the patch fixed it.
