MM Chat on #se4
 
Next Tuesday, November 4th, at 2 PM PST (5 PM EST, 10 PM GMT), #se4 will be hosting a chat with Malfador Machinations as special guest speaker. Topics will naturally cover MM titles such as Space Empires IV, Dungeon Odyssey, Starfury, and Space Empires V.

#se4 is located on the Gamesnet IRC server. For information on how to connect, check out the #se4 Web Site, which has a connection guide.

If you will be unable to make it, but still have questions for Malfador, please post them here, and we can compile a list of them to ask during the chat.

Not sure if I can make it. I'm sure someone will save the chat log.

The only questions I have was if MM was going to have any more updates to Dungeon Odyssey. I think it was asked in the Last chat if he was going to release another patch. His reply was that there wasn't any more bugs that have been reported.

What I'm asking is more of an upgrade to the game. Quite a few people, myself included, have posted and sent long list of changes that would make the game better, or maybe another module?

I guess I was always hoping he would do some of those ideas and upgrade the game like he was doing for SE4.

The other question is for Space Fury, and if the movement will ever get changed to make it 3D or at least it changed so it doesn't seem like I'm driving a car. I know others have problems with this also.

This wasn't brought up at all in the Last chat. Maybe it's not that important, but I would like to know anyways.

Hmm I could think of a number of bugs that need fixing.. Maybe we could make a list of those so someone could post them in the beta-forum. here's a couple that I could quickly remember:

-spell effect stacking bug : skills/spells that increase statistics of the caster can be cast multiple times for an additive effect. ( casting lvl I barkskin several times will give 95% protection for 20 seconds) it would be more logical if the time limit would stack instead of the other values, so casting barkskin five times would give 20% protection for 100 seconds.

-Broken scrollbars: The scrollbars in some windows don't work (quest window, load tile window in tilegenerator, possibly others)

-summoned monsters summoned monsters won't attack monsters that are summoned by enemies.

-Statgenerator utility is broken The Statgenerator utility doesn't work with 1.06 files. It refuses to load monster.txt files with "anchored 3 squares" (and likely other movement types that were added in 1.06) it also refuses to load item.txt files with glyps and/or orbs.

-Text windows The text windows that pop up after completing a quest should pause the game.

Then there are ofcourse many fields in the datafiles that have not been implemented. Especially the missing quest options would make a good addition.
