Some Questions

1. AI Anger File: (Per attack location :=2) Can someone explain what this line does?

2. What file holds the data on how fast a race colonizes planets, and also how many systems they colonize.

Thanks.

If I could tell you, what the AI considers a attack location, I could answer the question. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif

None. You can only say how many colonizers the AI will build. It will then use them all.

Look in the AI settings file. You'll see a few lines about %allied colonies to consider attack locations, and %enemy colonies to consider attack locations. The numbers are typically 30% ally, and 10% enemy (I don't pretend to know why). For each world you have that they consider an attack location the race gets x points of anger against you each turn where x is the number in this line.

Thank you so much Nyx, this whole diplomacy thing in this game is starting to make a lot of sense now.

Note that the AI only considers a planet an attack location for anger if it's legitimately seen it. If you've ever had a race go to war with you 2 turns after you formed a Partnership with them, now you know why. (The safe Partners are the Eee, Phong, Praetorians, and Toltayans.)

Re: Some Questions

I'm in the process of fixing this. The ai files don't match most of the race's description. When I'm done the peaceful races will be peaceful to their allies and aggressive and hate their enemies. I will most likely post this at the end of the week.
