Generated AI player attributes?
 
Being a relative newbie (read: just got the v1.19 Version but playing demo for weeks) I have a question on how computer players are setup in SE4.

Does anyone know if computer-generated players, either big players or neutrals, every have bonuses tagged to them such as defense, politician, offense, etc.?

Depending on the answer, is there someway to make that happen? If it doesn't occur, it seems kindof weak that each generated race would have exactly the same attributes.

The crux of the question is to really ensure that I run up against tough, somewhat different AI players throughout my gaming experience.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Well neutrals are neutral so they get nothing they are average at everything and have no racial abilities. The main races get racial attributes modification. How much depends on how many points you selected in the player set-up screen. They can also get special racial traits such as organic or religious tech areas. You can see this in the game by right clicking on their picture in the diplomatic screen or right clicking on the empire flag in the upper left corner of either their ship or planet picture.

They don't get any bonuses more than what you could pick unless you give them a bonus in the players screen before you start a game. If you do that they seem to have extra research points and resources.
