Are you seeing things?
 

Someone had mentioned having graphics problems, including ships/planets/etc. that are invisible. I used to have it happen periodically in the beta, but Aaron thought he fixed the problem, and I had not had it happen for a while. Yesterday, I had it pop up on me again. This one is tough to find, because if you save the game and reload, the problem is gone. If you see this problem, I would recommend taking a screen shot, making a save game (in case somehow it can help), and sending them, along with the specifications for your system to starfury@malfador.com. Perhaps by giving him some different cases we can provide the clue as to what is happening. I know that, at least for my system, these graphics problems are far more infrequent than before he made his Last fix, so hopefully, he is on the right track.

This happened to me once. I had just run into Freeport V and blown up, attempting to pick up drifting cargo that was very close to the planet. I had just saved the game, so I reloaded. Lo and behold, the planet was invisible. I noticed two more cargo crates were INSIDE where the planet should be. After saving again and reloading, the planet reappeared. I carefully picked up the first cargo crate and departed, still able to hear the 'beep' signals from inside the planet. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Gotta love suicidal frieghters. I've seen several cargo pods way too close to planets to pick up. Yup- the ship had rammed it.

One thing that is needed is tractor beams so we can get cargo that is too close to a planet/asteroid for a ship to get

I just loaded a game and my ship was invisible. That was a bit odd.

Been happening quite abit to me also
I would take a snapshot but as I have modded the demop it could always be something Ive done
