Babylon 5 Mod?

Hey all,

I know there has been alot of work done in creating a B5 mod for SEIV, what's the possibility of using at least the components created therein as a baseline for creating a B5
mod for Starfury?

A few things I can see could be a problem:

1. Probably need to create fighter Groups vs individual fighters as there are ALOT more fighters carried on ships in B5.

2. Modelling ships with moving sections such as B4,B5 and Omega Destroyers.

3. There are quite a few existing ship models floating around, is there a way to convert
them to Starfury's format?

Anyone else think this could be done?

I think Individual fighters would be good for the most part.
Just divide them up into squadrons of ten or so.

I don't know enough about modeling to say about the rotating sections, unfortunately.

For starfury, I do know that you need to convert them to .X format.

I would personally enjoy playing a B5 mod.
It would be challenging for sure, as the lack of shields and leaky armor would make all combat quite risky (As it should be!)
(That's why interceptors and fighters are so imporant too http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif )

You bring up an interesting point: interceptors.

I wonder if it would be possible to allow the PDC to target bolt type weapons as they do in the series.
(Beam weapons appear not to be defended against in this manner)

Also according to Online sources, the ships are quite a bit larger, the Omega destroyer is around 440 million metric tons while I believe the cruisers in Star Fury are in the 700kt range...

This would definately allow room for all those fighters...

Don't even bother trying to match stuff up like that http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Just find a decent scale and go with it.

Most of the bulk of the ships from those numbers would be the chassis and internal structure, probably. SE only cares about the mass/size of the stuff inside. There wouldn't nessesarily even be a linear correspondence between big ships and small.
