Invisible Asteroids
 

So, I assume we are all experiencing the random invisible object.
(I suspect a problem with loading the .x files.)

While discussing this with a colleague, the possiblity of an invisible asteroid came up. Hmm.

An invisible starbase I can recover from.
An invisible planet, at least it shows on radar.
An invisible ship, shows on radar and has its engines.

But an invisible asteroid. Who would know? Until you drove into it while navigating an asteroid belt. And, of course, it would be dead smack in the middle of that open patch you are flying through. Why else would it be open? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

Strange, I enjoy flying in the asteroids fields and I often battle near them but I have never ram into an invisible object. No asteroid or anything else. Thought I hate the freighters who almost try to drive over you when you're flying near them�.

I get this bug where the occasional object, be it planet, ship or star base, is invisible. Sometimes reloading the game clears it, sometimes not.

I have to assume that asteroids can be invisible too. It is just a lot harder to notice.

P.S. Almost forgot the best part:
I then RAN INTO THE PLANET on the way out!
