Change/Addition Requests

1. Slowdown – Major #1 Primo desire - We need the ability to really slow the game down. Right now I play on the slowest available speed setting and the game still seems to fly by so fast that I feel like I am missing most of it. This is a problem common to the genre and it is one reason I quit playing them years ago. I really, really enjoy looking around and seeing the world I am playing in. In Star Fury, there is simply no time to do so. There is a pause button, but it simply freezes the game. This does not help, as one is unable to look around space, examine objects, etc. So, #1 feature request: Give the slowdown function the ability to slow the game to a virtual stop.

2. Autosave – How many times have you gotten bLasted or crashed and THEN remembered that you had not saved the game since before supper got cold? Aaaaargh! Designate 2 save game slots to the PC as “autosave” slots and have the option of having the game save automatically after every cargo is delivered.

3. Ship re-configuration confirmation: Make all changes in ship configuration (new components, etc.) optional until a “Confirm Changes” button is pushed. That way we can look over the new ship specs and the effect on our finances before committing to a mistake.

4. Print function for reports, especially the ship inventory screen. Minor request for the engineer/accountant in all of us.

Re: Change/Addition Requests

You do realize SF saves every time you warp, right? And considering that on 1/8 speed you can litterally watch the beams fly to the target, I'm not sure why that isn't slow enough for you..

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">No, I did not realise that SF saves every time you warp. Does that save show up on the save game list? That is a help.

Speed...hmmm apparently not. Which +/- keys are used to slow the game - number/symbol keys or numeric keypad? Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Still, I'd still like it even slower

Re: Change/Addition Requests

It shows up at the bottom of the save game list.

If you haven't gotten the 1.08 patch, SF only goes 1x-8x time. You use the same keys to slow past 1x that you use to slow down from 8x (probably -)

You dude are really weird, dude!
More weird than even I am!
In my opinion we don't need any of those 4 points you described, except maybe more than one autosave slot (each warp the autosave gets overwritten normally) and an option to freeze the game and still change views and look around...a moveable pause setting of sorts, otherwise, erm...1/8 setting is sloooooooooooooowww.......

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Weird...possibly. Slow.... definately.

I don't seem to be finding the 1/8 time adjustment. Is there an indicator on the screen that shows the time adjustment?

should be right under the date display. fast-time shows in the same spot.

Re: Change/Addition Requests

Much thanks to Phoenix-D (what happened to A and B and C?). OK, my slow-down request and the autosave are already taken care of. I guess all I can whine about is that they were too subtly implemented or undocumented (didn't see 'em mentioned prominently anyway). The "Save after wormholing" is adequate, though a prolonged one-system sojourn would not be saved.

The time-scale information is hardly noticeable, unless you know it is there, which is fine....except I did not know it was there. Now I do and that problem is solved. And yes, 1/8 speed is fine. My problem was that the game was not slowing down at all, which brings up....

Handy Notice for newbies: The + and - keys that slow/speed the game are the ones above the alphanumerical keyboard. I was trying to use the +/- keys on the numeric keypad, which do NOT work for this purpose, at least for me. That is why I could not slow the game which meant I never had a chance to see the time-scale indicator.

Having fun....BTW can you change difficultu levels in mid-game? (difficultu...a lot like "difficulty", but without the typo)
