Question: Turning your ship. (Hitches)
I have a re-occuring problem: When I use the arrow keys to turn my ship (using the "regular" arrow keys and the ones on the keypad), it turns in that direction, hitches, and goes in the other direction. Is this normal? What am I doing wrong? (Same thing happens on another computer.) Turning using the mouse pointer works, but I have less control.
Thanks for any help. |
Re: Question: Turning your ship. (Hitches)
You're probably holding the key down too long, and the desired direction is wrapping around behind you to the other side.
The quickest way to get to that direction is now by turning the other way, so that's what happens. IMO the mouse is much easier and plenty accurate... Where are you clicking? If you were to look way out over the system and click a warppoint 1000ls or more away, odds are you'll hit the thing and warp with no further course corrections... If you click right beside your ship, there is a higher angular density, and you probably won't go quite where you wanted... Just use one rough click near your ship for big turns to directions not in the forward view, then click on the object of your desire when it comes into view. You'll run over it unless it dodges. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif [ February 18, 2004, 22:44: Message edited by: Suicide Junkie ] |
