Mod Question

Several Mods add new ship sizes to SE4.

Is there a way to tell the game to use one ship picture and if it can't find it to use another?

What I'd like to do is customize a shipset to use a different picture for each ship/fighter class without having to do this for every race in the game.

Example
Current setup
Cruiser=Cruiser Pic/Mini Defalt
Battlecruiser=Battlecruiser Pic/Mini Defalt
Assault Cruiser=Battlecruiser Pic/Mini Defalt

What id like
Cruiser=Cruiser Pic/Mini Defalt
Battlecruiser=Battlecruiser Pic/Mini Defalt
Assault Cruiser=Assaultcruiser Pic/Mini (first) and if not found use Battlecruiser Pic/Mini Defalt.

If this can't be done now perhaps this would be a good feature to add to the game in the future.

I think currently there are enough Star Trek and Star War shipsets out there to fill any new ship class added by a mod. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif

Re: Mod Question

Yes there is. Its kinda of easy actually, but you will have to put the picture in each and every race folder. Then go to the ship size text file, and create the file. Then tell the file to use X.bitmap. Thats how I do it, and it works fine for me. Just takes a long time to set up thats all.

Re: Mod Question

Thanks for the reply.

I was just hopeful that there was a way around having to customize every race in the game to make it work.
