Minor? Patch Suggestion
 

I like the game, so I am not complaining, but one thing that may seem trivial to some has always been important to me.

The Ship Name... As it is, the name doesn't change throught the game. Why would I call my first clunker something like 'Stealth Interceptor'?

If anyone knows what file to patch, or whatever, please advise.

Yeah, you can mod the ship names file. In the game, you can still type whatever you want in though.

I think he is referring to the name of the player's ship. And he's right, it's a bit odd that you have the same name no matter how many new ships you buy. There should be an option to choose a new name when you buy a new ship. That's one of the odd little 'quirks' I noticed early on but forgot to make much noise about. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Thanks guys. Yeah I know you can add names to the Shipnames data file and you can choose any name you want in the beginning.

I started out with a mundane name "Terran Five" for the first ship they dumped on me. Hey, that wasn't bad, but now I have a 1500kt Abbidon Battleship and want to give it a fitting name.

I have searched all the files in the game for "Terran Five" but can't find it. Anyone know what file it's in?

It isn't in any of the files, and no you can't change it. At least not through the text files..I suppose if you found a way to edit your savegame you could.
