Plotting courses/Capturing ships
Alright, so is there any way to open the system map and plot a course? I can't seem to find a way and I don't like just trying to point in the general direction.
And, I'm attacking a pirate freighter, how do I board it or capture it or take all teh goodies of it or something? |
Re: Plotting courses/Capturing ships
With the latest patch, you can set a waypoint which will appear as a white beacon on the main viewport. Go to your system map and click "View/Set Waypoint", then control-click where you want to set it. Your ship won't auto-navigate there or anything, and you can only have one waypoint at a time, but it's a start... maybe when the elusive third patch comes out we can convince Aaron to put in more/better waypoints http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
As for boarding, there is no boarding (again, we can only hope for it to be added, but Aaron is very attentive to fans of the SE games); you can only capture cargo by destroying the ship carrying it, letting someone else destroy the ship, or waiting for the ship to ram into an asteroid. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif |

All you can do is set a way point then point for it in the main screen.
No boarding actions. If you want the goodies, blow it up and some of them will be left behind. Though I think I could rig a simulation of boarding via events, but it would always give you the same stuff no matter what. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif |
