<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Its moddable only in certain very limited ways. If you could mod it, it would be easy to avoid paying for the full game.

Mod the ships available to buy at ports (it has been a while so not sure which file that you need to mod). I played the demo completely as a heavy fighter with two weapons. Although since I could not mod the hard point for weapons (demo specific limitation) they both fired from the some point. Those destroyers and cruisers are both challenging with a fighter. The final battle between my fighter and the star base took real skill to beat.
