Homeworld -- What is it?

Hi,

Could some kind, knowledgable soul describe how the Colony Type "Homeworld" affects gameplay?

I've been operating under the assumption it makes a planet more important (somehow), but then how can this be if you can make any or all of your planets a "Homeworld"?

One possibility is the designation is irrelevant.

Another is that planets designated as such at the start of play are more important (somehow) and remain important no matter what you may change their designation to. And at the same time, if you re-designate any old planet as a "Homeworld" it may not become "important."

Any takers? Please? Facts and numbers would be most appreciated.

Fact is that if 'homeworld' is captured, your population gets more angry.

Homeworld is where you race starts...just like Earth/Terra is ours http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif

and anything happens, good or bad, to it then "happiness" is affected.
