Re: Question on DesignName file

Well, I don't know about alphabetical, but it should probably have at least 40-50 names so the AI has some choices...

Re: Question on DesignName file

No, it doesnt need to be in Alpha order...the computer just starts at the top of the list and goes down it for naming.

It can have two words. I'm not sure on the exact length it can be, though.

Re: Question on DesignName file

How to make your own designnames file in 3 minutes:

I found a website that generates random alien names, you can even choose what the length and structure of the generated names will be.

The URL is: www.abooks.com/alien/

just copy and paste into a text file and your designnames file is ready!!

Question on DesignName file

Does it HAVE to be in alphabetical order?
Can it have two names in it: e.g. Red Dawg, Black Cat, etc...

Re: Question on DesignName file

For those who ever played "Traveller", the supplements for each of the non-human races had random word generaters along the same lines. Not automated, though, you had to roll dice. However, the ones for each race were very different.
