map making question(s)
hi,
with the new dominions scheme for numbering provinces, is the following possible : design a map, number the provinces. Use this map to generate the fatherland, and send trn to players. take the original map, mask with black areas some parts of it (thus overwriting the white dots of province center), and send this map to players. will the game crash, will the province numbers be differents for players compared to the host? My aim is to add terra incognita provinces, which would be lifted player by player upon entering some key provinces. I want them to be unable to gate toward specific provinces unless they lifted the Terra incognita, or I dont want them to see the whole map at turn 1 for example. |
Re: map making question(s)
I guess it should work. The white dots are only necessary when creating the game. Although it wouldn't be secret where the dot are supposed to be. You can still right click around and figure out where the dots have been.
*Edit: you would be able to gate into the black provinces too. [ October 15, 2003, 11:15: Message edited by: Johan K ] |

anyway, at least it would hide quite a bit of the design of a map. I suppose that a player can identify all connections too with the old shift N shortcut. |
