Any global events?

Is there any events that affect the whole world in Dominions II? In my experience, Dom I only had local events, so it would be nice to see some world-affecting events.

Unfortunately, no. The random events are still provincial in scope.

Too bad, it would have been nice to see events like :

Bill Gates decides to buy the world a coke, +10 gold from sales tax for every province.

Ben and J-Lo break up, massive unrest sweeps the planet.

Babble fish proves non-existance of god, dominion strength reduced by half in all provinces.

There have been talk of global events, so perhaps it will appear in an upcoming patch. It would be a nice addition.
