Battle Afflictions
What are all the ways to heal battle afflictions?
(Do any of the heal or regen spells heal them?) Sammual |
Re: Battle Afflictions
The only easy way to do so is to use the Arcoscephale Priestesses, who are able to heal battle afflicitions. (According to one of the in-game hints) Additionally, the spell Gift of Health may heal battle afflicitions. (Enchantement level 5 though)
There should be other spells/creatures able to do so. (Or perhaps some magical sites?) Regeneration also reduces the odds to be afflicted by a battle affliction, as well as being an Immortal. (I would expect other abilities/items to work, but I cannot find another with the demo Version) But do not expect to be able to heal this broken arm or missing eye that easily. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif |
Re: Battle Afflictions
I was playing Jotunheim for the first time and I had 2 weak Super combatants on turn 3. I managed to grab a large amout of area fast with them until they both lost both eyes and I could not find a way to heal them. Looks like next time I will have to find Arcoscephale and take it over to get thier priests.

Re: Battle Afflictions
Actually this sucks.
There should be spells to heal battle afflictions & remove curse. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon8.gif [ November 01, 2003, 19:40: Message edited by: Aristoteles ] |
Re: Battle Afflictions
There are spells which can potentially heal battle afflictions (or rather, there *is* a spell at least) , but not available in the demo. The only way seems to be Regenerate, which reduces the odds. But it is also likely I have overlooked some spell/item/creature/ability.

So there are a couple of ways to get rid of afflictions. BTW, you are not able to recruit units from other nations which you conquer. Sorry. |
Re: Battle Afflictions
I don't know if immortals have a lower chance of getting afflictions, but at least in Dom I, they do heal them over time. Pretenders also have a chance to heal afflictions when resurrected by their priests.
But generally Gift of Health would be the way to go. Within your dominion, you get bonus hit points AND can heal afflictions; very nice if you've got robust troops like Jotuns. And yeah, if you want an Arco priestess but aren't playing Arco, you either need to charm one (there's multiple charming spells, or at least their were *shrug*), or wish for one (probably not the best use of a wish...). |

Oh god, I will disable curse with the mod tools..yes that will be the first thing what I will do. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif |
Re: Battle Afflictions
There are at least 2 other means to heal afflictions:
The Faery Queen now can heal troops like a priestess - although you need Conjuration 8 and a good nature mage. The Tien Ch'i hero Ho Hsien-Ku can also heal afflictions. And she's immortal to boot! That certainly makes her the most valuable hero in the game. [ November 01, 2003, 22:29: Message edited by: Nagot Gick Fel ] |
