For games that dont offer to save a screen to a file you can almost always do this.... Hit the "Print Screen" button (near the top right of your keyboard), drop the game with something like Ctrl-Esc, open the paint program of your choice, go to "edit" and "paste", then save

Regarding my question, I was hoping there was an ingame function. Oh well, I can live without one. I assume it's not high on Illwinter's priority list to implement one.

You're right there. But there are plenty of good screenshot programs that can be used to capture screenshots of a windowed game. Press alt+return for Dominions to enter windowed mode.
