Two interface suggestions:

LOVE this game. Just Awesome.

BTW- The undead race is "broken", as they used to say in MtG. I assume they get gangtackled in MP?

Curse shields are too.

Oh, about the interface....

Please make research sliders lockable. Micromanaging is hell without it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Make visually clear (grey?) which magic items one has the gem resources to build, without removing the info as such. Annoying to have so many options and have to hunt forever to find what is actually buildable.

Also decoupling the god files from the nations would be lovely.

Longer scripts and scripting improvement to control(prevent) gem/slave use by the AI seems like it would be a very positive change, if it's feasable.

Thanks for a basically perfect game !!

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">In what way is it broken? Let me guess. You tried a race like Ulm against all AIs and Ermor kicked your tail?

Actually the game is a great game for having hidden balances. There are some nations that can take on Ermor by themselves but they tend to be weak against other nations. For instance, if you walked thru Marignon thinking "wow how easy" and then ran into Ermor and thought "wow how can this be beat" then the answer is that you show yourself in the foot. If I find Marignon between me and Ermor then I give gifts to Marignon.

Well, as long as we're complaining http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

One thing that WOULD be nice is the ability to view the stats of the current god you have in place for a given nation.

Ermor doesn't work so well when ai are involved, they treat it just like any other nation and let it slowly grow and consume them one by one. In reality a lot of priests can take care of ermor's armies pretty fast if you run into them before they take over half the map, but the ai doesnt realize this.

Actually, I didn't mean merely that it was overpowered, but rather that it paradigmatically does such collateral damage to resources available to other players, that it would have to be eliminated immediately to avoid the map becoming... empty. The AI doesn't seem to worry about this.

In SP you just load up on sacerdotal types and go crazy... it's trivial.

But I would think it would break many an MP game. Do most games have a no undead clause?

I would love some if ---> then capability in order scripting, is it possible/likely for a patch?

Ermor does not always have a destructive dominion. Just two of the themes. Default Ermor is much like any other nation, except they reanimate undead.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">This just doesn't compute. For this to happen Ermor's Dominion would need to cover the whole map, which would basically mean the other Gods would be dead & the game over.

What really happened in Dom I was that the dominion of Ermor wasted its own provinces, but this did not really affect the rest of the world. If you have 13 nations growing with +3 growth & one nation with no population you can hardly talk about a wasted world.
In fact, while Ermor uses to start with a stronger Dominion than living nations it usually has a hard time gathering coin for temples, so its influence often stalls & dismishes over time.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">I have only seen this in games in which Ermor was set as a bad AI to mess the players.

The MP games I've been playing usually have a no-undead clause, because Ermor is just "different".

But that's maybe because we're French http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif !
