Dom 2 music

First question: Is there a way to play the superb medieval music from Dom 2 other than by running the game?

Second question: Is the Dom 2 music available on one of the albums that the artists have for sale, or are they original scores made just for the game?

Cheers!

The music in the game is taken from one of the group's albums, but I don't know if this album is available in the US (it is available in Sweden). In the US, you can get one album by the group which is outstanding and has music very similar to the game music. You can find it here (and listen to samples of it).

More information about the group is here

if you speak English, and here

http://www.falsobordone.com/

if you know Swedish. I believe they have some music available on mp3.com as well.

As a note, the two pieces of music with vocals in them come from the Cantigas de Santa Maria. Those have been around for a while but I prefer the Falsobordone Versions over any others I've heard.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">And they appear on the Cd with the same name by Falsobordone, I thinkthey still have soem copies left abd you could probably get hold of the whole recording if you write them. But you should check out their latest CD "Figs, Fiddles and fine play" excellent music and 5 medieval recipes. So you could play the game, listen to the music and eat the food that goes with it. I'd suggest the french figs with either Marignon or Pythium.
Unfortuenately we could not add any food to the game.

A chance to see them live next summer: There is a medieval music festival in Lund, Sweden june 12-13th. apart from medieval sounds, tastes, instruments and atmosphere. You'd stand a good chance to bump into the the creators of the game there.

Dom2 was one of the few I think I ever even bothered to listen to the sound track. But eventually I had to turn that off also. Bad enough that the game is addictive, they had to add music that was addictive also? I woke up in the mornings with those songs in my head. Not a bad thing, but kindof disturbing. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Related to this topic, is there an in game modifier to change the music being played or should I continue using WinAmp? I agree, the music is very good, but I get so little free time that I like to listen to my new CD’s at the same time I play. The easiest solution would be to quit my job, but perhaps you know command line which would help…

There is no easy way to do that. So winamp is probably your best solution. By changing the Dominions sound output to 'wave out' you should be able to get sound effects and winamp at the same time though.
