Priests always recruitable with temple?

Hiya, I've noticed in some games there are shadowed out priests in every prov awaiting a temple, and in some there are not... if I build a temple in a prov *without* a priest silhouette(and "temple needed" legend), will I still be able to recruit a minimal (50gold 1 res white robed 2h) sacerdotal grunt there?

If not what are the determinants for where they can be recruited?

Thanks,

Rabe

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">To the best of my knowledge, no, you won't be able to recruit a priest there. The type of the province is crucial - hence in barbarian provinces there are no priests, while in those LI-HI mixes there are.

You can always recruit a preist. And in some cases you can recruit 2 of the same type of priest. Meaning you have the Silhouetted Priest by a Scout that you can recruit or 2 icons down the other Priest (Same units) by the commander. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

I thought it was a bug.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">This only happens if your national lineup has priests and scouts, and you fort an indy province with them - you get duplicates.

You can only make priests in provinces with temples and inherent priests. Don't build a temple in a province without a greyed-out priest and expect to make priests there...

...and don't build priests near my borders anyway, unless you're feeling lucky, punk http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Mm'hm!

Say hello to my little friend!

My priests will go where they want! They know about the TRUE God and are allowed to strut their stuff wherever they like, even in your trailerpark of a domain. Don't make me go cobra on you!

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Heh. I'll keep them on my side, I promise. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Seriously, I need a few turns to work out the diplo situation... just making sure I can get a few if needed... and actually what I really want is the temples/domain effects/preachers... Your metabolically perfect unhead hordes don't provide much fertilizer for the Ulmish victory gardens... most of my border provs are brown thumb central. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif
