Re: [poll]About Dispel Global Enchantment
Unless the owner of the spell is currently at war with me I would only try to dispel the Arcane Nexus.
If I am at war I would dispel any spell my enemy would come up with. The Arcane Nexus can give you tremendous powers. Most damaging spells hurt all players and are of less concern in times of peace. If a Nexus wasto be dispelled I would use all my gems and try to get as many other players to pool their gems as possible. If I cast it I would probably not use less than several hundred gems. Unless I was trying to make people waste gems that is. |

Nobody's going to make my pretender mute again. Or kill him again. I'll dispel Bot and WoG and other nasty spells by any mean available, as soon as possible.
Which doesn't mean I won't try to get other players to cough up part of the price, or help them do it if they have a astral 3 dispeller and I don't. But I won't wait for it to simply disappear... Forge of the Ancient or Arcane Nexus however, are not quite top priority. I might wait [ January 19, 2004, 16:12: Message edited by: General Tacticus ] |

in MultiPlayer game,
1. which of the following Enhancement, you will try to dispel? ** if you already have a s3 caster, just need to pay some pearls.. 2. Would you empower your mage to astral 3 to dispel Burden Of Time/Ultradark in a MP game,or just wait others to do that? 3. How many pearls would you put to dispel a deadly G.E. like BoT/Ultradark/Astral Corruption? |
Re: [poll]About Dispel Global Enchantment
if not at war, I would consider myself to be at war with anybody casting a GE which attack me in some way.
If at war with somebody, I will consider dispelling any GE he puts up, even gems income or province defence boosts. |
Re: [poll]About Dispel Global Enchantment
Interesting result on Mechanical Militia. I love that spell, it seems to shut down the AI and, at least to my mind, would be a real pain in the butt for anyone at war with me. Is it easier to counter in battle than I am aware? If so, I would be interested in how you tackle it.
I use it to make the results of probing invasions harder to clean up, as well as allowing me to free up more forces for offensive work generally. It limits your opponents ability to annoy you with small and medium forces, they need something really big to do much damage. Of course, this depends on the exact situation. I might leave the spell running until the turn before I invade, but it has got to go if I am coing at you. |
