What the heck -- stale turns

Hi.
My friends and I have downloaded the demo, and we started several games served on various people's machines. Frequently, when I submit my orders, I get a message at the start of the next turn saying something like "Stale Turn. Your 2h file is too old. You have not sent any orders this Last turn." So I lose an entire turn!

Why?!

Everybody must submit their turns to the server before the "Host" button is pushed... if you do not submit the orders in time, you will get a stale turn message.
