Heat and Cold
What are the actual game effects of "heat" and "chill"? The description about "they radiate heat/cold" which is stronger in hot/cold lands means what? Does that automatically spread a "cold dominion" or something else?

Re: Heat and Cold
It means what it says .. literally.
But personal aurae from units don't matter on the strategic map, only in combat, so you'll have to check a combat replay to see them in action (graphics are pretty obvious). They are effected by dominion, as stated in the manual, not the other way 'round. So your chill as a Bane Lord will be stronger in cold provinces (be it from pretender dominion or local sites or simply weather). But it wouldn't help you spreading the cold dominion of your pretender. A. [ January 24, 2004, 05:13: Message edited by: Arralen ] |
Re: Heat and Cold
Don't clump non fireproof or coldproof units near units with heat or chill... because the non-immunes get frozen or ignited. It's a common way Abysia loses indy troops - they just burn up.

Re: Heat and Cold
Heat area is larger in hot provinces. Chance of ignition higher and chance that the fire is extinguished each turn is lower. Basically, the heat radiation is more powerful in hot provinces.
Likewise for the chill effect. The freeze chance is slightly higher than the ignition chance, but frozen units do not suffer damage, they just fight worse. * Edit: You can die from the fatigue of the chill effect, but only if already unconscious * [ January 24, 2004, 08:12: Message edited by: Kristoffer O ] |
