Weapon Mounts
 
The more I play around with the data files, the more I wish weapon mounts could be dependant on research. I mean, I'd like to make an "Extended Range" mount for ship beam weapons, but I want you to have to research "Beam Focusing" first.

And what's this about there being a maximum number of weapon mounts? Eeek, I've got like 25 planned just for ships. Gonna be annoyed if I hit a cap.

I hear that. while its unlikely we will get tech-dependant mounts anytime before se5, you might talk MM into putting a max hull size on a mount as well as the minimum.

that way you could make a mount that only fits on a certain sized hull, and make a special hull that is tech dependant. it sort of rules out upgrading, but its better than nothing.
