how do I apply the patch for the mac? (idiot needs help)

Sorry for this trivia but I'm a new mac user and this wasn't written anywhere....

(I have the full Version 2.02 - patch is 2.06)
So I download the patch file for the mac it unpacks into a small file called "Dominions 2" -> then what?

Executing it gives an error, and obviously I'm not supposed to replace the original with this tiny file.

Please help.
