A pair of technical questions
Here they go:
1-I have a friend that has installed the game on a laptop (an "old" one with w98 and maybe a 300mhz processor) and he says that when he has been playing dominions2 for about 5 minutes, the computer shuts down.No crashes, no frozen system...power shut down.It seems that only happens when he is playing the game.Any clue about what can be the problem? 2-Im preparing a pbem game with my friends and my brother also wants to play, but we only have 1 computer here at home.So can we play the same pbem game in the same computer with the same game copy? Or maybe we need a new doms2 copy and make a second install on my computer? Thanks for your attention http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif |
Re: A pair of technical questions
I dont think you can play a pbem with some players with same cd-key...

Re: A pair of technical questions
It should be logic to be able to do so.You can play 17 players in hotseat because they are all in the same computer, so why not 2 players in the same computer in a pbem game?

Re: A pair of technical questions
In PBEM it tracks your CD key so you are unable to play PBEM with the same CD Key. I think this is because of some sort of 'cheating' workaround issue. Though I could be wrong.
My laptop has had problems with playing Dom2 as well. Mostly I think it's a graphic or video card problem, as my particular laptop has specific drivers as opposed to general PC ones. It does work but it has a lower framerate than my PC (PC has about 75+, Laptop ~25) but I could only get it to work in Windowed mode and by using some of the information found in the technical thread about laptops. |
