PD growth?
 

I've noticed that several of my provinces are increasing their PD levels by 1 periodically, without an event doing so (the events, when you get them, increase by 5, 10, etc.). It's only in certain provinces, and it's not hidden sites because in at least one of these auto-increasing PD provinces I've done an Acashic Record and there's nothing there that accounts for it (or that says anything to the effect). It's welcome that my loving subjects wish to improve their defenses, but I am curious as to the underlying trigger for this, and why only in some provinces, and never in others (when I do get the free increases, it's always the same few provinces).

If you are playing T'ien Ch'i base theme with an order scale, you slowly accumulate PD.

I'm playing the Ashikaga mod, which replaces TC, and I have Order +2. I wonder if Potatoman knows of this incidental benefit on his mod?

Anyone have any idea how fast this growth is? And is it dependant on the province population or anything else?

The growth is minor. It's not really a nation balacing effect, it's more of a thematic touch. So you'll still want to put up PD and eventually in your inner provinces you'll get a fairly decent PD defense without investing any money.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">As best I can tell, it's not related at all to population, and it seems that when it happens, it happens to most/all the provinces it happens to in the same turn (so they all stay at nearly the same PD level). It appears to trigger slower and slower as the PD level in the province rises. It was every 3-4 turns when the PD was under 4, and about half as fast at PD 11, and it's too soon for me to tell at PD 21, but it's even slower. This is how it seems. I'm sure that one of the IW guys will chime in soon and tell us what it's really based on ...

it would be interesting to have this ability as a moddable effect. For example Roman empire can benefit from this free PD increase, to represent limitanei
