Read thru the spell list. Many of the random events exist (apparently) to hide the fact that your opponents can cast the same events on you by magic. Magic damage to provinces which are supposed to appear as random acts of nature so that you dont know, like rain of toads. But random events are supposed to be.. well.. random. If you are suddenly getting alot of the same thing over and over I would look at the scoreboard and see who is pushing the magic research.

Something similar happened to me. I was cursing in disbelief ... until the realization came to me, when a hurricane hit my province TWICE in the same turn. Apparently, the enemy AI did cast an hurricane spell, then I got an hurricane random event http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

To the OP, if you want to guard against spells, look into the 'dome' spells (Enchantment, mostly; Blood as well). Dome of Solid Air, Forest Dome, Dome of Arcane Warding try to block spells; the fire/water domes don't block spells but try to kill the casters; and the blood dome tries to both block spells AND punish casters. It does have its price, however...

What's wrong with this game? It's crazy!
I'm getting "Rain has been poring down and the entire province is severaly flooded" (-25% of population in the province) at least once every year! (at least once in 4 turns) This is ruining my game, I have luck +2 btw, so it's most strange piece of luck I have ever seen.
My question is how to avoid this flood? (I have order+0, heat+3, luck +2)
