My dominion that strong -- cant be
Goofing around with Pangaia on Aran, I sent out my starting harpy scout around just so I could note where the other capitals are. On turn 6 I noticed that about 20 provinces away on the other side of the map, where the harpy was but no longer is, my dominion had spread to about 4-5 provinces -- it was like 2 in 1 and 1 in the others. Yes, I have restless worshippers -- but there were at least 8 provinces in the way, and they were DEFINATELY not infected with my dominion. My propher or pretender was nowhere near -- so how could my dominion be there?

Re: My dominion that strong -- cant be
Restless Worshippers also works to lower enemy dominion rather than to strengthen your own. I'm not sure what's causing that but it isn't anything I've encountered before. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif

Re: My dominion that strong -- cant be
Which map did you play on?
What where the provinces numbers involved? I have seen similar effects, were player dominion "jumped" from 38 to 36/39/etc, despite these provinces where on the other side of a non-wrapping map. Maybe there's a glitch in the code, where instead of "real" distance to the home province the distance by number is used to generate dominion effects? |
Re: My dominion that strong -- cant be
Bad events mighyt cause the faith of another player to spread in your lands. Most likely the AI has gotten such an event.
There are three special events with this effect that also comes with an attack by the unknowing attacker. Pangaea and Ermor vs anybody and Marignon vs Ermor. |
Re: My dominion that strong -- cant be
No, it was only on turn 6 or so that I noticed, no special events and no special attacks.
It was on Aran. I must have started around province 9 (bottom right), and maybe had 2-3 provinces under my control. I had "information" (that you get thru dominion) on about 6 or so of the surrounding provinces (e.g. 22, 30, 18, 13, 4, 2), but no dominion anywhere else. Except over on the middle left, I had a dominion of 2 in 20, a dominion of 1 in 28, 36 and 34, and maybe 26 too). Where no prophet, pretender, or dominion-spreading device (juggernaut, ark etc.) ever was. Remember it was only turn 6. Weird. |
Re: My dominion that strong -- cant be
If it happened to the enemy AI, you wouldn't have received a special event notification . . .
