Editing Data Files
In the VehicleSize data file, it has the following:
Requirement X Type: Specific Component - Must have, Specific Component - Cannot have, General Type - Have exactly, General Type - Cannot have, General Type - Min Percent, General Type - Max Percent, General Type - Min Amount, General Type - Max Amount, Custom Group - Cannot have, Custom Group - Have exactly, Custom Group - Min Percent, Custom Group - Max Percent, Custom Group - Min Amount, Custom Group - Max Amount, Ability - Cannot have, Ability - Have exactly, Ability - Min Percent, Ability - Max Percent, Ability - Min Amount, Ability - Max Amount How exactly do I go about incorporating these modifiers? For example, I want to create a Ringworld platform specifically designed for holding HD Cables with the requirement MUST HAVE HD CABLES, but I can't seem to create the Requirement line correctly for SEIV to accept. Any pointers? |
Re: Editing Data Files
It's not possible to add extra requirements from the ones already in the file:
Requirement Must Have Bridge := True Requirement Can Have Aux Con := True Requirement Min Life Support := 1 Requirement Min Crew Quarters := 1 Requirement Uses Engines := True Requirement Max Engines := 6 Requirement Pct Fighter Bays := 0 Requirement Pct Colony Mods := 0 Requirement Pct Cargo := 0 Believe me, I've tried. |
Re: Editing Data Files
Has anyone ever had any success in using the "Cannot Have" requirement setting?
I'm attempting to add a line of "Cannot have" to the escort hull to prevent the addition of a specific component type to any design based on the escort hull... no luck. Any one? ------------------ Character is best defined as that which you do when you believe nobody is watching. |
Re: Editing Data Files
I don't think the 'Cannot have..' appears anywhere but the comments section at the top of the file. I think someone in another thread said that sometimes stuff is talked about in the top of the file even though it never was implemented. In that particular case, they saw the comment about fighters 'May or may not have the ability to move through warp points.' Someone thought Malfador had considered making that a toggle but may not have ever implmented it. It's possible this one is the same way, maybe?
