Stealthy units and catching them
What are the numerical odds of catching units with different stealth levels? What are the odds of it being exposed? Some units have very high levels (30) and id like to know how far they can press their luck.
Also, if you suspect your being infiltrated by a high stealth unit, what measures can you take to catch him? This advice is for a multiplayer game http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif . |
Re: Stealthy units and catching them
Patrolling units can catch them. I assume that the same things that make patrolling forces good against Unrest also help them catch sneaking units (numbers, speed, flying, scariness(?)).
Provincial defense can also catch them. The more, the more likely. Somone did some tests with the home province default defense of 25. +0 sneakers there will get caught pretty often, while +30 will get caught much less often, but still is pretty risky against defense 25. One counter-tactic is giving retreat orders, starting by the exit edge of the tactical map, and sticking to enemy provinces that are adjacent to friendly ones (otherwise, retreating means death). Another question: does experience level play any part in detection chances? PvK |
Re: Stealthy units and catching them
If you suspect high stealth units are infiltrating your province, you can patrol with more units, such as fliers, or a Watcher, cast things like Eyes of God in conjunction with militia or patrollers, jack up province defense, or maybe try casting things like Flames from the Sky or Seeking Arrow on your own province. I've had scouts get arrowed before, so it's possible that spells can still hit stealthed units. ARROWED!
