Hi,

Just started out a game playing as Machaka against seven AI opponents. On turn 4 or 5 I took an independent province and, watching the battle replay, noticed that my witch doctor cast 'seven year fever'. I had only researched evocation up to level one and the spell in question is a thaumaturgy level one spell. How did he do it?

Seven Year Fever, and Blind, are the two national starting spells that Machaka can cast right from the start. All national themes have a few "special" spells, that more or less fit their theme, that they can cast without having to research.
