Dominion II Won\'t Load!!!!
 

I have a Pentium III, 1 Gig & 256 MEGS OF RAM. I've never had another game fail to run on this computer. When I go to start the game, it just changes my graphics from 1200X1600 to 600X800 and then does'nt do anything. Help!!! I've heard lots of good things about this game and am anxious to play it

Odd. I dont remember if that screen size is supported but try changing the icon that calles Dom to include some of the other settings.

Easiest would be to right-click the icon, choose "properties" and the line that calls the program, at the end of the line that calls dom2 add a -w

you should use -dd for debug mode and check the log.txt in the dominions folder

the Last thing it says in the log should contain the error.

Also, it probably should be asked:

Are you running the most current patch, or trying to run it for the first time out of the box? I know there were some video resolution fixes in 2.08...maybe that patch would take care of your mysterious video problem.

Also make sure you have the latest update for whichever Video card you are using. I had some problems with a couple of games and updating the drivers solved the problems.

Try this:

dom2 -bitplanes 8

and then

dom2 -bitplanes 16 -w
