Neutrals outside of their system

I am currently engaged in a game (v1.19 no mods) and I just noticed a neutral ship outside of it's system. I thought that neutrals didn't know about warp points. Has any one else seen this before?

I've never noticed it, but I guess if you or an AI gift them a ship not in their solar system it could happen.

I seem to remember seeing a neutral ship outside it's system. It was a dreadnought and was latter in the game. But the ship still didn't stop me from invading them.

i traded a neutral some ships for some stuff once. the ships i gave them were out side their system, and they were able to cruise around in them.

I got hit with an "event" once that sent one of my ships halfway across the quadrant. I wonder if that is what happened to your Neutrals.

A neutrals ship targeted a ship of mine and followed through a warp point once. Quite a surprise to my crew it was too.

No, I don't think it was an event, cause the ship was in the next system. Also I know it wasn't targeting me, cause I had a partnership w/ the neutral at the time. Furthermore, I doubt someone traded them the ship cause it looked just like theirs.

I can think of 2 reasons for this.
1) When I was playing game with neutrals, sometimes, when they sent their ships for re-supply, the go to their partners planet for re-supply (most likely because it was closer). If you had partnership with them, they probably went to re-supply at your planet.
2) Some other race may have captured neutral's ship. Have you checked the flag on it?

Re: Neutrals outside of their system

I know it was the neutral's ship (had their flag). It seems unlikely that it would be resuplying at my planet, since the system it was in was empty. If it matters, the ship was a light cruiser warship and it was just sitting on the far warp point of the system (system w/ 2 warp points one lead to neutral system and the cruiser was on the other warp point).
