Don't upload your pretender over other people's pretenders without permission, and don't go AWOL without warning: If you have to leave, at least go AI.

Actually, those are probably written somewhere else.

yeah i've seen that, and that would come down to common courtesey. I was just wondering if there was something else...like lets say take all the indy provinces up before you start trying to whack on someone <shrug>

There's no general unwritten rule like that. It's perfectly fair game to attack another player on sight. Unless the game you're playing has declared some specific house rule against them, attacking on sight, backstabbing, deceit, and treachery are all fair game. None of these are general rules of any kind.

The only general rules are not to go AWOL or be disruptive to the game.

Another thing that you might wish to seriously consider avoiding, unlike CERTAIN PEOPLE who will GO UNMENTIONED *cough*cough*, is to actually READ the terms of the game you are committing to, and avoid STALLING THE GAME by WALKING OFF for COMPLETELY BOGUS reasons.

It's ONE thing to have a pressing personal matter to attend to that has suddenly come up. Everyone's dog dies every now and then, but it's another thing entirely to suddenly declare you are calling it a night two hours into the start of what was declared to be a 5 hour game in advance, and then HAVE THE GALL TO SHOW YOUR FACE ON THE FORUM A HALF HOUR LATER, proving conclusively that whatever reason you had for stopping and HOLDING UP THE ENTIRE GAME was a COMPLETE SHAM.

Norfleet, I feel your pain, but I fear there is no solution to players going AWOL. The best you can do is start your own black list and never let these disruptive players into your games once they are found out.
