Blink doesn\'t work during assassinations?

Hi all:

I recently had a bright idea (or at least I originally thought so)... or using the spell Blink in assassination attempts by R'lyeh's star children... in general, I find that star children to be very effective, even unequiped... mindbLast rules... but mounted commanders can often get to them before a mindbLast "sticks"...

So I thought... throw a couple mindbLasts then Blink! Throw some more, then blink again!

But it's not happening... I scripted it, but he insists on casting random spells instead of blink...

Why? Is it something about assassinations, because the field of battle is smaller? Is it intentional or a bug?

EDIT: Just tried to have my test assasin cast it when he attacked(not assasinate) a province... and he refused.
Had him scripted as: (Blink) Fire Closest
So this seems like a bug with Blink, or something about scripting I don't understand... I'll do a search about the latter.

EDIT2:
Checked this thread "Reasons why the computer will not cast the spells you script", but Blink does not seem to apply to any of the reasons. The target is the caster, no gems, fatique is only 10...

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Well, the idea was that the Star Children can use it almost straight out of the box... but I can find no circumstance where he will cast it.

I even tried to see if perhaps the spell was mislabelled and required more than 1 in astral... but my astral 5 pretender wouldn't cast it either.

So my conclusion is that the scripting of the spell is busted at least, whether the boots work or not.

Hmm, perhaps the AI doesn't know about the spell. We'll have to look.

I guess I'll check out those boots DLC mentioned in the meantime to see how effective it makes my star kiddies.

they are unique if i remember right so you can only have one of those assassins that teleport.

make some resistance piercers instead like that rune wand(3 fire 3 water) and that token that also does +2 pierce resistance(1-2 astral?).

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Oh yeah, I know... I just want to see how blinking works in assassinations... and with just a few tests, it's pretty perfect.

The Sandals of the Crane simulate what it would be like if the Star Child had Boots of Quickness and was scripted for (Fire)(Blink) ad infinitum... and if the spell Version of Blink worked. Which is over the top, but it shows that it the spell Version would be useful.

Blink is only Thaumaturgy 1 and doesn't require any pearl use...

Compared to the Rune Smasher which is Construction 4 and the Spell Focus which is Construction 6... plus the resources used to make them... which stand a good chance of being wasted if the Star Child runs into excessive body guards.

Assuming that there is, indeed, something broken about Blink and it can be fixed in some future patch... Star Children's survivability vs. indie Knight provinces just shot up quite a bit.
