Questions about Mistform
 

How exactly can it be broken?

I've heard many conflicting opinions on it,

1. Some say that it is automatically broken by hit that deal more than 30 hp of damage, after taking target''s protection into consideration. (if it is true, do muliply attacks by the same attacker counts as one hit?_

2. Explanation is similar to the 1st but it says that mistform is broken with net damage (from all attakers) that target would suffer if not for mistform >30.

3. Some say it is all true, but also the mistform can be broken by any magic weapons. If it is true, is it automatic or only possible?

Alsoif target has other forms of protection (ehterial, luck, long weapon for repel attmepts, mittor image) what is the order in which these protections are applied? Does mistform check comes Last, if all other forms of protection fail? Also what about mirror image check, what are conditions are for its dispell?


And fianlly - if the Mistform is broken does it still protects it's user against the final hit that broke it?

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">No. Multiple hits are each counted seperately. A single hit doing 30+ damage is required to break a mistform.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">No, 30 hits for 5 points of damage that will do 1 point of damage a mistformed target in one round will not break it. A single hit with 30+ damage is required.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Mistform is not broken by simply "magical" weapons, although magical weapons are more likely to hit given other factors such as etherealness, and often have superior damage, so are more likely to pass 30+.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Mirror Image is, I believe, applied first: I forget the exact formula for number of images, but a hit has a 1 out of however-many-images chance of actually being aimed at the correct target. If the target is real, then I think etherealness/magic weapon and target defense are taken into account, to determine if the target is struck. Then protection is checked. If the target is still being struck for damage, if lucky, he has a 50% chance of not being struck. Finally, mistform is checked: If hit does < 30 damage, it only causes 1 damage. A mirror image is broken if the target suffers damage.
