Mobile Defense \"Bases\"
I've added the following to my MOD, but haven't tried it yet.

Since it can't be launched directly from planets, it can't be hidden on a planet and deployed during battle. If we ever get the ability to customize the component requirements, I'll disallow robo-miners, as that's not what they were designed for. Do you think they should cost more? |

Why not extend the idea to include "Mobile Mining Bases"? The only problem would be forcing it to have miners on board. Providing combat modifiers would help, but only if the AI would use it properly.
Which brings up another point; if you add the OWP, you'll have to add appropriate lines into the research, design and construction files for the AI's. And there'd also have to be a way for the AI to figure out that they have to be launched by ships instead of planets; probably need special design for the ships used to launch it, since it requires so much cargo space (or add another level of satellite bays with the appropriate amount of storage). |
