No god

I have an idea for a setting that could possibly be included in the game. How about an option to start the game with no god? I mean you design a god and everything, but you just don't start that game with your god. Any priests you have begin with the ability to "Call god". Then during the game you have to determine how many priests you assign to "calling god".

In fact, there could even be a setting to vary the number of "priest points" needed to recall your god. As a matter of fact...you could even tie this to the number of "god points" used to create the god. So a Titan for example would take 125+ whatever his magic costs were to recall him. This could be on different settings also, 1/2 god points or 2x god points for example.

You could even give extra points for choosing this option. A more powerful god, but obviously if used in conjunction with the "god points" idea above it further delays your actually being able to field the god.

I thought of this because thematically, there are so many stories/movies where the "disciples" are bent for much of the story on "resurrecting the great so and so". What do you guys think?

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">That's doable thru scripting:

#specstart (nation) (startlocation)
#land (startlocation)

will erase all your starting units and leaders, including the pretender.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">That's exactly what happens in most of the games I've joined. Before being resurrected the great so and so must have been alive, then dead. So basically your proposal is just to make the game start in turn #20+.
